For my personal use, I've built a bike trailer out of aluminum flag poles, wood and solid wheels from a wheelchair.  The trailer can also be hand-pulled when I need to move it over non-bike friendly ground.   I'll be bringing that trailer to some of our meetings and will be happy to explain construction to anyone.
