Dry Canning means N0 MOISTURE food storage.

This article contains basic advice and steps for putting your dry foods prep stock into safe(r) storage.

There are advantages; less weight, smaller space needs.

Five areas are covered:
  • Mason Jars with oxygen absorbers
  • FoodSaver machine with bags or Mason Jar attachment
  • Food grade buckets with oxygen absorbers
  • PETE Bottles with oxygen absorbers
  • Purchase #10 cans from a visit to a LDS Home Storage Center
I note #4, and warn that because the oxygen absorbers will reduce the air pressure inside the PETE container, it may collapse, possibly breaking the seal.  Watch for this if you use PETE containers.
