Follow up information from the May 26, 2021 net

As always, I did forget some of the things I wanted to mention after they came up during the net. About the generator power usage, one of the things I intended to mention was to be very aware of the phantom power draw that many appliances and devices have. This is often not included in the power usage statement of devices that have various types of timing and monitoring functions as part of the controls.

The device can be off, but these phantom power draws are still occurring. Clocks, monitoring for specific events, etc. This is particularly important to consider when calculating the size of an Uninterruptable Power Supply for sensitive loads that need to be powered during the few seconds when a generator auto-start generator is activated when the power goes off. Or when one is running gear on a UPS with no other incoming power.

Here is the link for what I consider a good source of information on generators in general, as well as information on many different specific generators:
Central Maine Diesel Generators | Diesel Generators | Triple-Fuel Generators | Propane/Natural Gas Generators

Information on the Zeer clay pot refrigeration systems I mentioned:

Some examples of USB 5v fans:

Some examples of USB 5v 'air conditioners':

Always shop around for products. The above are simply examples of what to look for. And always check shipping chargers if purchased online.

Jennifer mentioned her dehydrated celery and celery salt. These, to me, are types of necessary adjuncts for various types of cooking. Here is my list of adjuncts that always try to keep on hand.

Baking powder
Baking soda
Bouillon, beef
Bouillon, chicken
Cornstarch
Gravy, beef
Gravy, chicken
Salt, iodized
Salt, sea
Soup base, white creamy
Tomato powder
Yeast
Cream of Tartar
Celery, crosscut
Mushroom pieces, FD
Onion, diced, FD
Pepper, green bell, FD

I think I am forgetting some other things, so when I remember I will post them.

Everything is just my opinion.

JerryGreat ingredient list.
You might want to drop the baking powder from it.  It slowly reacts while just sitting, gets hard, and inert.
Use two or three ( third is optional ) of the list ingredients to make your own baking powder.

2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cornstarch (Optional)

Thank you, Ken, WolfBrother.

WolfBrother, I keep the makings for baking powder, but prefer to use the readymade for normal times. Probably would be better if I just kept the ingredients and used them, instead of continuing to buy the baking powder as it goes bad, since I use so little of it. Good thought. Thank you.

Just my opinion.
