Spam Recall - Check Your Food Stock
« on: May 28, 2018, 08:29:07 AM »
I hope you DO have some Spam in your stockpiles.  Even if you don't like it, it is a long term storage protein and fat source.

If you don't like the flavor, simply shred it into small pieces and boil with one or two changes of water.  That restores the flavor to "ham", with the loss of fat and sodium nitrate (saltpeter) and sodium chloride (salt).

That being said, there has been a recall of some Spam packages:

This is due to "metal fragments" found in some lots.

There have been numerous reports posted to the 'net about this, this is one which gives more information, including pictures of the packages.
