This is a discussion of how to teach Situational Awareness for both the parents and their children.

I found some good points to be considered and taught.  Even if you don't have children in school.

I draw your attention current events in the last few years.  Sadly, I don't see it getting better and the only "solutions" offered are in articles like this one, in which the lesson is how to be better prepared by increasing awareness.

I'll also offer the opinion that public schools are a source of danger, both physical and mental, and NOT a safe space for your children...

Part 2 is a detailed analysis of situations which students encounter daily in public schools.  It offers recommendations on how to train your children in keeping situational awareness and safe behavior in chaotic, crowded areas such as hallways and cafeterias.  This is worth reading and having your children read too.
