Made with your prepper supplies, or fresh.

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef, either frozen, canned or reconstituted from dehydrated beef

2 cans (10-14 oz) mixed vegetables or sliced green beans, drained

1 can tomato soup 12 oz ( or tomato sauce and 1 can (12 oz) condensed milk )

1/2 tsp ground pepper

1 tbsp garlic powder (3 cloves crushed fresh. More is better if you like garlic...)

2 tbsp onion powder ( or 1/2 fresh onion chopped fine or coarse )

Salt to taste, there is already salt in some of the ingredients...

3 cups mashed potatoes (add butter or margarine if you have it, but not required )

Prep:

If using frozen hamburger, thaw and brown in a skillet.  Do not drain.

Add to skillet; meat, vegetables, onion, garlic and tomato soup (or tomato sauce and condensed milk)

Bring to boil and add pepper, garlic, onion. Salt if you want more.

Simmer the mix until the liquid is at least 50% reduced, stir to keep from sticking.  This is a thick mix when done right.

Pour hot skillet mix into an iron skillet or 9in x 9in baking pan.  Remember to leave room on top for the mashed potatoes.

Carefully spread the mashed potatoes on top of the mix.  I mix my potatoes fairly soupy and pour it on the mix.

USE A BAKING SHEET, as this will boil over and drip.

Bake at 350 deg F until the tops of the mashed potatoes are lightly brown. This can take up to an hour, depending on how much liquid you used.  Check frequently after 30 minutes.  Even if you burn the potato topping, it still tasted good.

Serve hot.
