I'm looking at The Pantry Primer and The Prepper's Water Survival Guide. Has anyone read them, and if so are either worth buying?

Sorry neither ring a bell for me, but sound interesting

If you go to Amazon, you can usually take a peak inside and see the table of contents and sample chapter sometimes.  I almost always do that before I buy a book now a days.
