I note that medical related topics are lacking here, and I understand the reason... "I am not a Doctor."
This article discusses something we all may be facing. It is not gender specific and is caused by
packing too much on a hip mounted suspension system, be it a simple belt or a heavy backpack.
Read the article, it has very good pictures and discusses how to avoid and/or treat the condition.
http://theprepperpages.com/treating-survival-belt-syndrome/I'm looking at our backpacks with this topic in mind. I'll confess to have overloaded my belt when I
were much younger, it being the "cool thing" to do at the time and in the group I hung-out with. I suspect
the only thing which prevented my experiencing "the syndrome" was being overweight and having more
fat padding my hips. Given the choice, I would lose the weight for health reasons... If TSHTF, weight loss
may be the lease of our troubles.
I would also recommend browsing the rest of the website containing this article.
