Title: Tinctures,, Info and How to's
Post by: TWP on October 07, 2016, 11:08:25 AM
Making Tinctures is a skill which may prove very useful in a long term downturn.

Do note the distinction made about using alcohol and/or water to make tinctures vs oil based extractions.  You will need a source of alcohol (make your own...) and oils.

If you cannot simply buy what you want in the local drugstore, making your own may actually be better.

Multi-part article, updated as it arrives.

More information, linked in the above article, about common herbs used to make tinctures

Using herbs is an entire world in and of itself.  There is a huge (Yuge? ;D ) amount of information available on the 'net (some may be hear-say...).  Some web searching is recommended.

Also note the need for jars and bottles for storage and creation.  Blue bottles are recommended, because they filter the light which may reduce potency over time.  Storage in cool, dark locations is recommended also.
