Post by: TWP on May 31, 2018, 01:55:22 PM
On the NNPG Radio Net, Rob reported the failure of some of his Mylar food bags.

I can't locate a current reference to this on the 'net, but it is something you need to check.

Rob reported that one way to check your bags is to pat them and look for dust escaping.  This will not work on all types of food.

DO CHECK your mylar bags...  If they were vacuum sealed, a leak will mean they are no longer visibly compressed around the food items.  If you used an oxygen absorber in the package, then that will (should) cause the plastic to compress around the food.  Check any uncompressed bags.
