The author of this article has broken the lesson into three levels:
Level 1 - Place Awareness
Level 2 - People Awareness
Level 3 - Thing Awareness

I think this can just as easily be applied to any age, particularly for those who are just starting to be introduced to Situational Awareness.be applied to any age
It is easy enough to do a quick three level check: Place, People, Things.
It can become an easy habit and, done right, will not even be noticeable to people around you.
