How can I tell if a personal message was sent or not?

I just tried to send a personal message to Rob and a couple of things happened that make me wonder if I was successful.  For one thing when I typed his name into to the "To" field his name showed up below the field but not in it.  Another thing is I expected my message to show up in "My Messages" but it hasn't so far.

Do these things indicate that my attempt was unsuccessful?

I think you need to save a copy to your outbox to save a sent message. Its not the best messaging system.

Thanks for your question. See my attachment for a picture of what you will see when you send a message. This indicates a successful delivery. You would see a different message if there was a problem.
