This thread has lot of good ideas and suggestions about growing corn and using it, including recipes.

Do take a look at page 2 which has some pictures of really nice corn on the cob, Glass Corn, and a link to obtain seed.

One good description of planting the "three sisters", corn, peas/beans and squash, AND why the planting order matters.
