I like Ginger, for cooking and for health.

This article shows how to plant ginger roots, both indoor and outside (can't do outdoors in our area, but you can use large pots and move them indoors for the winter.)

NOTE: your ginger must have the sprouting points still on the root.  These are sometimes cut off by the gowers, whether to keep the root from sprouting to prevent competition from home growers.
