Title: Anybody up for a cup of coffee?
Post by: ken_ on September 05, 2018, 05:10:41 PM
I know it's the dog days of summer but this is really slow. Unless a lot of the regulars hit the lottery and quit the forum, got abducted by aliens, or raptured...

I do not drink coffee, but I am up for hot cuppa tea.

Might be aliens.
I'm still here so it wasn't Rapture.
HAHAHA
I'm up for coffee, for sure!

I know there are several coffee houses, as well as a few tea places. Most have both. But I have not been to any of them. I will leave it up to the coffee drinkers to choose. I can drink most any tea.

Just my opinion.

Unlike JT and those he has converted, I am not much of an Earl Grey fan.  (JT is introduced as a character in Jerry's story "Expedition")

However, Twinnings English Breakfast Tea - that's what I buy to store and to drink.  I pay a premium to get the loose tea in the metal container.  The empty containers come in handy.
https://smile.amazon.com/Twinings-English-Breakfast-Loose-7-05/dp/B008RYNJ9A  I purchase it locally for about $7.
They also make a very good Irish Breakfast Tea.

One of the reasons I like the Bigelow, aside from just the taste and health benefits, is the single bag packaging. It is a foil type packaging that keeps the tea fresh for a very long time. I am seriously considering getting both green tea and black tea bricks, and oil of bergamot in order to make my own Earl Grey blend when commercial tea is no longer available. The bricks keep a very long time, as do essential oils. And the teas they use in most brick tea is usually very good tea.

And for the locals, I am still up for a coffee/tea/hot chocolate meeting.

Just my opinion.

Tea bricks - source?

There is another tea I drink on occasion. It’s called lapsang souchong. It is smoked and delivers a smokey taste.  Not everyone finds it to their liking.

Lapsang souchong is okay. But I much prefer Russian Smoked Tea to the lapsang souchong.

Just a few sources for brick tea:

Jerry Thank you for the links.

Being another tea drinker and a reenactor this will be great fun to have and a great prep.
