A note; Not all plants are suitable for aquaponic cultivation. In particular, root plants such as potatoes. There remains a place for in-ground gardening. Some plants do not like to have their root system too wet. You'll need to research this.
Still, the article is worth reading and should stimulate you to consider using aquaponics as PART of your home gardening plans.
