Ivermectin - COVID-19 and other virus protection

I have been taking 3mg daily for three weeks as of today as a prophylactic measure to protect me from COVID-19.
I am not old enough to be eligible for the vaccine right now.
I have read Ivermectin is 'very safe' for use in humans with 'billions' of doses taken since it became available.
