Growing your own food
« on: May 21, 2015, 07:47:07 PM »
This is one of the June Events
We WILL be building planter boxes onsite. We will have all materials and tools so just bring some gloves.
On the agenda is a talk and demonstration on seed starting and saving.
Also a talk about growing in small places.
We will talk about some of the basics and tour our hoophouses and garden area.
Oh yea, chickens are always a topic.
I will talk a little about Permaculture and how it can affect the how, what and why we do things on a property.
This meeting will be at our Homestead in North Reno.
Please bring a chair, hat and lunch. We will break from presentation to planters after lunch.
We will be sending the address and directions when we get the signups to each person and not posting on the calendar.
I would appreciate it if you keep that to yourselves.

We are all set for tomorrow.
I have sent directions to those signed up, if I missed anybody let me know.

Should be a great day, remember to bring chair and a lunch.
We will have some snacks and coffee in the am.
We will be under shade in the garden area.
Tools and materials provided for planter boxes along with expert technical support.....

I will be there and probably carpooling with Jo.  I will need directions as the last time I came, it took a "seal team" to bring me in.  LOL

First, I'd like to thank Vic and his lovely wife for being so gracious and sharing their homestead with us.

Each time I get together with this group, I am overwhelmed by the generosity and comraderie. You are all amazing individuals and I am blessed to be in your company. Thank yoy to everyone for the work on the planter boxes. I look forward to planting in mine!

Once again, today's event was a true testament to the strength and bonds of this group. I look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

To all,
It was a pleasure having everyone out here yesterday. The event was great and company greater.
We look forward to doing this again and Glenda, thanks for the kind words.
This group shows that none of us are alone when we have each other.

Vic and Lisa ;)

I'd like to thank Vic and Lisa for opening their home to us.

We had an excellent time and look forward to the next event at Vic's.

The planter building was fun, but I suspect that it was really a opportunity to train a crew for Vic's next home-building project...  ;)

Vic, thanks for letting the dogs play with us, they are great friends.
