I dont think any of my bobs would be suitable for air travel. Lol! Id be banned from flying.
I always take at least one driving. And bus probably wouldnt like them either.
8:10:00 PM
AI6OO-Keith
DO NOT use a carryon that would you had ammo in.  Those machines are sensitive and TSA can be really thorough and long.
8:11:09 PM
Josh K7ZIM
I went shooting once before i had to take my stepkid to the airport. I walked him to the gate so had to go through the scanner. I was sure they would go off but they didnt.
8:13:09 PM
AI6OO-Keith
The bomb school in New Mexico is always fun coming back from one of their classes.
8:13:30 PM
Josh K7ZIM

8:15:02 PM
TWP

A long time ago, I went diving in the caribean and packed my dive knife (5" blade) in my carry on...  They were nice about it, since they saw where I was going and let me put the knife in my stowed luggage.\

Three other things to have
1 noise cancelling earphones, movies downloaded including kids movie to quiet the noisy one next to you, finallu
y I joined pre TSA, it does speed you up when they are running a pre check TSA line.
8:41:48 PM
KG7MZO - Glenda
It would be awesome to be able to hang out in the Admiral's Club
8:43:02 PM
AI6OO-Keith
you just want the free things in the admirals room
8:43:29 PM
KG7MZO - Glenda

I spent a night sleeping in the regular waiting area (Chicago, late flight).  Ouch...
Have a pillow at least...
8:46:10 PM
AI6OO-Keith
i have done that a couple of times.  Not fun!
8:48:05 PM
KG7MZO - Glenda
Chicago sucks.  Hate that airport
8:49:30 PM
AI6OO-Keith
i agree, terrible place.
8:49:58 PM
TWP
Been there twice.  Never again (I hope)
I would add: check the weather at your destination.  For instance, the US east coast was iced in for a long time (may still be).  Rerouting is common.
8:53:23 PM
AI6OO-Keith
good
point about the weather
8:53:45 PM
KG7MZO - Glenda
Weather delays were exactly my issue.  That and service delay that bumped my plane's crew
Weather delays are a given during the winter
lesson learned for me is to make sure to book your flights with some layover time, no more tight connections during the winter
8:56:25 PM

Zero trust level with Uber and Lyft...
Taxi is only slightly higher...
8:58:27 PM
AI6OO-Keith
so far no problems with Uber, but not sure of them yet.
8:58:59 PM
TWP
I don't think they (the drivers) are vetted well enough
9:00:17 PM
AI6OO-Keith
they are not vetted enough that is sure
Many of my teammates do like to use them.
good night
9:01:23 PM
