I'm linking to one post (#9) in a longer thread because it contains very good basic advice on cooking.

The rest of the thread is good too, but if you're a beginner at cooking (we all started that way), you will do will to save and read this single post.
Other links in the thread point to some good recipe sources.
If anyone in our forum wants advice and training with cooking, let me know, I'm always willing to share what I have learned. My credentials are that I am still alive and can count a few people who say they like what I prepare. I'm the "chief cook and bottle washer" in our household.
