Greg did you RSVP to Ken even though Ken knows you're coming to field day? I did it twice. I may do it again. I may do it many more times.
BTW Ken, I'd like to RSVP to field day. I'll be there when you are and leave when you do. My callsign is K9RVM.

Question for HAMs re CME/EMP protection for your systems: What do you have in place as a lightening arrester / CME/EMP pulse divertor (sp)?
RE 3D printers; Assuming you have enough plastic feed stock in your prepper stores, it will make name of the small items we now purchase. For instance; cable and wire hooks, knife handles (they do break), gun stocks.

Rob K9RVM
TWP: There are protection circuits built into the radios as well as static arrestors and a serious amount of grounding to drive foreign RF and voltages away from the equipment and send it to ground. More so the radios run independent of commercial AC and operate on DC voltages. All of this generally protects the radios far more than most home electronics. Nothing is full proof but given that antennas are subject to lightening and receive and produce high voltage, the grounding system is pretty substantial to protect the equipment.

Rob, thanks. It would seem a good idea to begin converting other electronics to DC power. That might be as simple as inserting a DC to AC inverter into the circuit.
This assumes that you cannot find a replacement device which runs on DC to begin with (for example, laptop computers are DC)

Would someone please get my phone number (775) 412-3900 over to Dave K7DWW and suggest that he call me...
Thanks
