I'm posting this in hope that it will make you aware of why a monetary collapse is an item in the list of Prepper "events" which might (may, perhaps, maybe) result in an "End_Of_The_World_As_We_Know-It" scenario.

Don't panic, but learn what happened in the past (recent past) and why your prepper plans should include:

1) Preparations Before such an event.

2)  Plans on how to deal with the aftermath of such a collapse.

My comment:  On my Risk Assessment spreadsheet, there is a factor for "economic collapse".  These articles describe why this risk is real and should to be part of your prepper plans.

Right now, I'm assigning a risk value of 8 or 9, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being eminent occurrence ( a value of 10 means we would be having huge bank runs on a world-wide basis... We're NOT there yet, but keep your eyes and ears open ).
