Dealing with an economic slowdown

Should this come to pass, more so than we are already seeing, what can you do to survive?

Some basic actions and, perhaps, changes in attitude about living:

Most of us are prepping (IMO) for a catastrophe.  Something so bad that many people will be running around in circles, screaming and shouting (non-preppers anyway).

What do you do if the economy simply runs out of gas and slowly comes to a stop?

The possible effects are well known.  We talk about them as preppers, but usually associated with a fast moving crisis...

What if we simply fall into a pit of molasses?  All the services and infrastructure are still there, but the grease (money, banks, internet commerce tools, fuel supplies, electricity) which makes them accessible and available is just not working?

Don't make any quick moves, but if you look slowly over your shoulder, it is coming down the road behind use right now...  Screaming and shouting will not work.  Running for cover makes no sense.

What are you going to do now?
