Title: Toothache Herbals
Post by: TWP on February 14, 2017, 07:49:47 AM
The article lists several herbs which are useful to handling toothaches.

NOTE: In a SHTF situation, you may not have access to dental care.  These might make it more bearable...

I also add to this list, the inner bark of the common Blackberry plant.  The inner layer, pealed or scraped off, will help numb a sore gum/tooth when packed against the gums.  It is NOT a cure, but merely a palliative for pain.   I've used this and can confirm that it does work.  You do want to use the green, living stem, and not the dry, dead parts of the plant.   Don't forget to avoid the thorns...   Eat the berries when the pain goes down, because they are food.

Clove essential oil is perhaps the best choice as it is both numbing, strongly antiseptic and used in temporary fillings. It goes a long way but store plenty.
