If you have fallen prey to the oft stated MYTH about "expiration dates", best by" dates etc.  This is must read article.

Save yourself a LOT of money by NOT tossing good foods simply because one these hyped dates has passed...

Look in your local grocery for sales on foods which are close to one of these dates... The grocery will try to get them off the selves and may offer a better price to entice you to buy.  Do it.

Disclaimer:  This is NOT intended to make you stop looking at the food package and rejecting cans or plastic bags with are obviously swollen, rusty or broken...  Those faults have nothing to do with the "expiration / best by" date...
