Title: Living without Refrigeration
Post by: TWP on August 30, 2016, 11:05:17 AM
Some very good ideas on how to store, what to store and how long it can be expected to last...

DO note the suggestion to buy small quantities, only as you need them:  I think this will prove to be expensive, since buying in bulk is one of the best ways to reduce prices.

So buy food preps when they are on sale, buy foods which have longer storage lives and do process foods for longer storage:
-dehydration,
-canning,
-smoking,
-immediate cooking
are all good practices for adding to the storage life of foods..

If we all should lose electric power, then the ideas given here may be very useful.

If you already practice non-refrigerated food storage, you will be ahead of the game, and probably saving money on your electric bill.
