Quick stove, build as needed

You will need a simple hand drill ( bit and brace ) or a power drill. Use at least a 1.5 inch bit.

And a saw to cut an 18-24 inch long second of tree trunk.

The log need not be dry, in fact it will last longer if it is wet, with not loss in cooking utility.

If push comes to shove, you can build this using several smaller logs, strapped together.

The nails used in the example pictures, as pot holders, could be rocks or smaller wooden sticks...

Personally, I would save the nails and use 1 inch diameter sticks to hold the pot above the fire hole.
