Simple steps to harvest, cure and store your squash.

From personal experience, this Does NOT work well for Zucchini...  Either eat zucs soon, dry or freeze or just leave it on your neighbors front porch... ;)

The biggest factor, beyond preparing your squash for storage, is selecting the proper cultivar: some last 3 months, some 6 and, a very few, 12 months. Plan your usage around this.

If you have chickens, they will happily eat anything that that looks like like it is going. Really hard one should be cooked.
