Title: Maine and Local Farmers
Post by: TWP on April 14, 2015, 10:10:03 AM
We here in Nevada could be doing more along these lines.

There is a small effort being made locally, but most NV residents don't have the
garden space, or the water supply to make this viable.  I hope this changes,
sooner than later.  There are a handful of larger farms, along the rivers edge,
but they grow only seasonal crops (pumpkins for Halloween, etc)  They have
water rights from the river, but my guess is that they cannot compete with the
food imported from So. Cal.  That is changing, starting with this growing season
(2015) when California food production will be massively reduced.
