Okay, the latest from the Lancet is that the Chinese have verified viral shedding in survivors for up to 37 days. The median time is 20 days. This from an article just published on the 9th, a very comprehensive one I might add. The even reported the medications used for treatment in all respects, not just what anti-virals they tried. Seriously good stuff. They used a cohort of 192 cases, of whom 54 passed. Much better information than anything else we have seen thus far as various and sundry docs and "scientists" rush to be the first to publish.

Most folks are happy being a part of the Great Shepherds Flock.
Some folks choose to be wolves and prey on the flock.
Some folks choose to defend the flock and confront the wolf.

Does viral shedding translation into how long the person can be contagious?  and if so, when does the clock begin?

In the early days, the settlers would band together and build their houses nearby for safety....it seems that we have to do the opposite now....sad.

As long as they are shedding virus they are contagious, and it starts when they show symptoms for certain, and *may* start before that. I would have to go back and review for sure but recall with cvertainty that it was speculated that the patient may be contagious before they start showing symptoms, unlike most other viral and bacterial ailments.
