It is a case of is it better to have it and not need it (or in this case 'it will work only some of the time') versus not having it at all. There are times, just as Ken mentioned, that it would work, and work well. At the other end of the scale, it works hardly at all. But there is a wide range in between where you would get varying amounts of water from one of them. If you live in a fairly low area where cooler, moist air tends to accumulate, or near a natural feature that tends to give off moisture at times, such as a river, lake, pond, or even a small stream, there could be times when water can be recovered. Used with a storage system so all the water that can be collected can be kept, then it might just be worth it. When I can afford it, I will purchase one, or make one myself.
