O's Christmas Surprise
« on: December 27, 2016, 09:45:24 AM »
The internet is reporting that the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act was signed into law last Friday. It allegedly contains provisions originally submitted as S2692 the Countering Information Warfare Act in March 2016. This is reported to establish a board consisting of members from the DOD and DHS. Besides the obvious Constitutional issues this will present I have other questions about this report.
   1) Congress adjourned Dec 9th but o is said to have signed the bill last Friday.
   2) When I did a search  on S.2692 it was submitted to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee last March and does not show it ever left that committee.
   3) If S.2692 was never presented to the Senate nor voted on, who hid it in NDAA. Is this one of those: We need to pass it to know what is in it situations?
While none of this surprises me considering the actions of those in power, am I missing something or is this just internet BS?

I am not sure, Russ. I suspect it is true, but have no further evidence for that stance. I am sure Obama wanted it, so that is one factor.

Just my opinion.
