Copper smelting
« on: August 24, 2016, 12:39:53 PM »
This site contains a video on primitive copper smelting:

http://www.offthegridnews.com/how-to-2/how-to-make-copper-just-like-our-ancestors-did/

We have copper ore available in the Cascade mountains, if somewhat harder to find.

DO note that copper ores are associated with limestone deposits...

After a SHTF event, and after all the copper wiring has been scavenged, copper will remain a valuable resource.

Excellent! Very good reminder of some of the old ways of doing things.

Had not thought about molding a tube of copper and then drawing it out as wire. Could do similar to make buss bars.

Thank you.
