Downloadable document sources (update 7/27/15)
« on: March 27, 2015, 11:12:37 AM »
I'm starting this thread as a continuation of my posts from  the old Meetup site.  I will update it from time-to-time.

These are sources of free downloadable documents - books - manuals for your personal library:

The Preparedness Review (TPR) is no longer being published.  The five issues are still available from Todd Sepulveda's website: PrepperWebsite.com:

http://www.prepperwebsite.com/tpr/

These are VERY good collections of articles about Prepping.  Worth including in your digital library.

This a another site with a large number of downloadable and valuable documents.  It is technically free, although the web-master requests a donation (optional).

I did see current documents in this archive and some are quite large (900 Mb for example).  Some have been broken into volumes, which would make download easier, if slightly slower.

[Edit 7/6/15]  The above link will be changing, approximately in Sept. 2015, to this new link:

http://soilhealthweb.org/

I see several, large, documents that I really would like to add to me collection, mostly related to soil and agriculture practices.  Over time, I may be able to acquire them, if my bandwidth can support it.

This single reference contain over 100Gb of files.   The individual files (PDF's) are free to download.  The webmaster also sells the entire file set on thirty one (31) DVD's for $34.95.  That price may change as the size of the collection grows.  You can read more about this on the site home page (blog format).

This is a goldmine of old documents.  The document size is large, mostly due to the use of images for PDF pages, but please don't let that stop you from building your library.  There is a good catalog, sorted by type of information.

I use these three sites for finding many of the free prep related Kindle books I have accumulated:

http://preputilityvehicle.blogspot.ca/
http://prepforshtf.com/free-kindle-books-limited-time-offers/#.VRYRLHktHIW
http://centslessbooks.com/nonfiction.html

There is quite a bit of overlap, but I still find a few that one site will have but the others will not. I have been downloading ten to fifteen books, on average, every day for most of the last two years, which has garnered me over 7,000 free books, with about 80% or so relating to prepping in one way or another. Some are better than others, and some contain much the same information, but I figure more is better, in this case, as I can filter through the various similar information and draw my own conclusions.

Just my opinion.
