This is a skill which should be in your prepper knowledge base.
If you don't have a garden space (like me) you use your window sills to grow what will fit in that space.
You buy NON-GMO, NON-Hybrid, "Heirloom" seeds.
You save your harvested seeds. This is the skill to be learned:
http://www.thesurvivalistblog.net/save-vegetable-seeds-work/I have has luck with seeds from produce purchased in the grocery store... Since you Cannot know if these are hyrid produce, your luck may be very different from mine.
I am currently growing sweet torpedo peppers (green/red/orange) which I harvested from a bag of peppers bought at the local market. They had 100% germination rate (a good sign). I am saving the seeds and will replant next year. That will be the real test, to see if they breed true.
With peppers growing in an apartment, you must hand pollinate each blossom. I use a small, soft bristle paint brush.
What are you growing in your window sills?
