The exact choice of foods used in this article might not be the best option, nutritionally, but the methods are recommended.

A dehydrator IS recommended, if only to reduce the food volume before packing.

DO read the comments which have additional ideas on both the storage methods and the food processing.  Note point made about corn as a dietary staple...  Learn how to nixtamalize corn to release the needed vitamin content.

"Quick Cook" oats are not my first choice.  Whole, rolled oats are better and don't require much more cooking time.
