Title: Recipe - A Guide to Salting Food Preservation

Please add this to your prepper docs.  Perhaps begin to practice this at home, now, before you need to use it.

NOTE: the salt you use is important.  I prefer non-Iodized salt and I avoid the sometimes overpriced "Kosher" and "Himalayan" salt varieties.  "Sea" salt is sometimes not pure sodium chloride, so beware...

Salt Peter (Sodium Nitrate) can be found in some specialty food shops.  It used to be readily available, but is now being restricted because it is also an ingredient in Black Powder... Go figure...

DON"T USE "ROAD SALT"!!!! It is NOT sodium Chloride (table salt)... Check the labels.
