Article - Making a Log Rocket Stove

These work in areas which don't have large trees (think about our last group camp on Dogskin Mountain).

You can carry more than one of these, pre-drilled, in your BOV.

If you DO have trees, you can carry a tree saw, brace-bit drill, and the bit itself plus a set of nails if you use this exact design.

The nails can be recycled when the log stove burns through.  You might need a claw hammer or crowbar to remove them.  It is best to NOT let the nails get too hot as they will lose temper and would need to be replaced or re-tempered.

If you have a grill with "feet" you may not need the nails.

Green trees work for this.  They start burning slower, but last longer.

The article has good pictures and detailed instructions.
