Title: "Sugardine" wound treatment
Post by: TWP on October 07, 2015, 04:06:21 PM
Disclaimer:   I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.

I do recommend adding this to your BOB and all medical kits.

I assume that many of you already know about Sugardine.  This is for those who do not.

It is Sugar (granular Sucrose) and Iodine (from Povidone Iodine.  One brand name is "Betadine").

This article discusses use and the comments have some good anecdotal reports

The recipe, from the article:

"Ingredients for sugardine. Procedure:
Adding more or less sugar makes it the consistency of  thick honey or peanut butter.
Put the sugardine in a container with a tight fitting lid.  The mixture will need stirring now and then but it will never go bad."
