(upd 3/31/17) Evaluation of Every-Day-Carry (EDC)

This is a multi-part article on the subject of what is in your EDC and how it can benefit you.

Part 1)  https://survivalblog.com/every-day-carry-for-todays-world-part-1-by-n-m/

Part 2)  https://survivalblog.com/every-day-carry-for-todays-world-part-2-by-n-m/

Part 3)  https://survivalblog.com/every-day-carry-for-todays-world-part-3-by-n-m/

Part 4)  https://survivalblog.com/every-day-carry-for-todays-world-part-4-by-n-m/

Part 1 discusses why you should have an EDC whether it is in your vehicle, bag, pack or just pocket contents.

Part 2 goes into some specific, high tech options for EDC and some tactics while out-and-about to keep your "gray man" profile as low as possible.

Part 3 discusses head protection, walking sticks (I never thought of these), non-firearm protective devices, non-cellphone cameras (with good reasons NOT to use a cellphone camera), various types of flashlights, road flares and smoke signal devices, chemical sprays such as mace/pepper sprays and finally a dry powder fire extinguisher.

Part 4 touches on possible weapon choices in a crisis, communication options including Ham, FRS and GMRS.  It addresses a first aid kit (IFAK) and what it should contain.  It also discusses the possibility of being in a lethal fight zone and how to act.  Finally it includes an extensive list of reference sources which (IMO) are worth your time to drill down and browse.

I realize that it is difficult to change ones mindset to adhere to the "gray man" concept.  My personal opinion is that it is not paranoid but rather simple common sense in today's world... YMMV

I will update this post if additional article are made available.
