I expect most people here are already familiar with the UV5R But there has been some talk recently about making them illegal to import and or illegal to use if not a ham and it had something to do with its ability to transmit on the GMRS frequencies both without the FCC license and at a power in excess of the allowable power output of licensed GMRS/FRS radios. I did this vid mostly as a illustration for a webpage Im working on.
