It boils down to: Practice, Practice, Practice.  And then keep doing what works.

If you wait to learn until after TSHTF, it will be a very lean winter, if you survive it.

If you don't have a garden space (we apt dwellers for example) then ask friends who do, if they will let you practice for a share of the produce.

There are some "community" garden spaces still in this area.  Look them up and inquire about getting access.
The last one I saw was in Teglia (sp?) Park, in Reno.

And just how many seeds do you have in your prepper stockpile?  Enough to lose the first year's crop and plant again next year?

Do you know how to harvest for seed?

Do you plan on letting some of your crop "go to seed" for the next season?
