Hi Paul and Kristen
...

K7IN - Paul
Hi Ken

KK7CON- Kristin
Hello!

K7IN - Paul
Hi Kristen - I'm not ignoring the queen of the chat page.
(clap)

KK7CON- Kristin
lol..

KK7CON- Kristin
I'm so sad i am missing frozen prepper days. We have inventory at work
(lol)

K7KBJ
Kristin, we are also sad.

K7IN - Paul
Boo... my old work stopped doing annual inventorying and went to daily cycle counts. Over one year of work-days, we would count random computer-generated items and no more spend a 3-day weekend just to do counts.

David - K7DWW
Ken...question 1 - With the heavier and more frequent snow coupled with the colder weather, is there anything that you want to change with regard to your prepping efforst.

KK7CON- Kristin
We do inventory at Costco every 6 months. mandatory

K7KBJ
We never do inventory and our counts are always wrong.

K7KBJ
David, question one can also apply to increased rainfall as well as snow.

David - K7DWW
Second (and repeat question) - Despite the wonderful and dedicated efforts of the Best in the west Technical committee and Snars, there has been interruptions in Repeater service. If there were no repeaters available, how are you going to communicate in an emergency situation

K7KBJ
Had we not done the rock work and dirt moving we did, we would have serious flooding issues here.

K7KBJ
David, we just did this net.....

K7KBJ
November 30, 2022 - Do You Have A Plan To Use Simplex If The Repeaters Go Down?

K7KBJ
So that one has been covered

David - K7DWW
I know

K7KBJ
David, I'm printing with that new light yellow filament and it is AWESOME

David - K7DWW
Think it's still important

David - K7DWW
your call

K7KBJ
Yes, it is important as HELL

K7KBJ
I suggest we do question one tonight

K7KBJ
I heard Virginia peak is getting a NEW repeater.

David - K7DWW
So don't include two as well?

K7KBJ
Right. I suggest question 1 only...

David - K7DWW
OK

David - K7DWW
Bet the yellow will be a hit

K7KBJ
I increased the size, too

David - K7DWW
Hello everyone

Idaho70
So you guys survived the flooding? Everyone?

K7KBJ
No serious flooding in the Reno Sparks area or outlying vicinity

K7KBJ
...yet

David - K7DWW
Keith...no flooding in S. Reno near me, but snow was issue 10 days ago. But lots of wet weather is and continues to be issue

Idaho70
I thought you were going into a drying period.

David - K7DWW
not yet

Idaho70
Snowing up here right now. Not supposed to be much, around 6+ inches.

K7KBJ

Idaho70
Is that how you picture yourself Ken?

K7KBJ
Sometimes, yes.

David - K7DWW
I saw him today and he looked just like that

Idaho70
Very vivid imagination.

Idaho70
Better check your glasses perscription David

Idaho70
How are you doing Deborah?

K7KBJ
I apologize for the crappy signal on the web feed. I'll work on that tomorrow.

Idaho70
I am getting a lot of crackle, but I can understand David quite well.

K7KBJ
He is not crackly on my radio. I need to adjust my antenna on that radio feeding my audio server.

Deborah
Hi Everyone

Idaho70
Hi Deborah

Deborah
Hi Keith, doing ok. We had another showing yesterday. Young couple.

Idaho70
I have finally convinced Judy to let me purchase tracks for our UTV. Turn it into a snow cat.

Deborah
sounds fun

Idaho70
It will be safer than driving a pickup over the stuff.

Idaho70
Plus we can go some places easier over the snow than without. t

Idaho70
Too much brush at times

Deborah
David, you didn't let Kristen finish. You mixed up our call signs

K7KBJ
David doubled with Kristin.

Deborah
Still sounds fun Keith

Idaho70
Oh, it will be.

Kristin, I have a great recommendation on a generator for you. Let me know your e-mail and I can pass that along. - Paul

KK7CON- Kristin
I have been doing research about an invertor vs a regular one. tri fuel vs gas. etc It can be confusing I would love the recommendation.email is carinifamilynv@gmail.com

K7IN - Paul
Thanks, Kristin. I will send my information by e-mail after the net.

KK7CON- Kristin
thank you! Appreciate it

Idaho70
Invertor is much better to operate electronics, such as your radio. Produces a pure sine wave. Tri fuel increases the chance you will find a fuel source to run the generator.

Deborah
Hi Tim?

W7LTE
Another advantage to inverter generators is fuel consumption. Inverters can idle down and burn less fuel if there isn't much load.

W7LTE
Hi Deborah! 😊

W7LTE
And everyone else too

Deborah
What kind of weather are you getting tonight Tim?

Idaho70
I lke the honda invertor generators. Cost more, but very reliable and easy to start.

W7LTE
Windy and foggy. Supposed to rain later

Deborah
any tornadoes?

W7LTE
I have a champion 4250 inverter. Modified with some zwave sensors and relays so my smart home can monitor my batteries and start the generator if it needs. Been running pretty much every day for a couple hours since like April. 520 hours on it and still acts like it's brand new. Have to recommend 😊

W7LTE
One touched down over in Alabama about 20 miles away. That's the closest I've heard of yet

K7KBJ
Tornadoes suck

W7LTE
So do earth quakes? 🤔

KK7CON- Kristin
Thank you for all the great info!Goodnight!

K7KBJ
73 everyone

Idaho70
I have a champion generator also and it has been very good. I also have a Predator 9500 as a backup for the house. Been doing well so far.

David - K7DWW
Night everyone!

K7KBJ
I use a generac on my house

Deborah
yup Ken, they do. One hit literally down the street from my daughter's place. Whole neighborhood out of power for 3.5 days. Luckily her inlaws have a good generator so food and family transfered to the bigger house for the duration.

W7LTE
My backup is also a champion. Older regular generator. It's never been quite right though. I bought it used after someone took it to burning man so who knows what it went through.

Deborah
Night David

Idaho70
I have a generac also for my primary. Did you know they only warranty for 2 years and they go out about that time. But they are the only company that has a generator for off grid.

Deborah
Night Kristin. Glad to hear from you again.

Deborah
Night Ken

Deborah
Idaho and Tennessee, you guys still with me?

KK7CON- Kristin
yes I was on vacation then working Wednesday night. I have been listening to the archives. How is Jerry doing?

W7LTE
Am I Tennessee? Lol

Deborah
Jerry is doing pretty good. He has serious trouble with the repeater tower out in Winnemucca

Idaho70
Deborah, getting more interested people coming through?

Deborah
Hope so Keith

Idaho70
My youngest just bought and moved into her first home over in Port Angeles near Seattle.

Deborah
Like I said, young couple yesterday. She doesn't want to live so far from town but the realtor told her they won't find anything this size for this price closer to town.

W7LTE
Cuz I'm actually in Georgia. But I can walk to Tennessee from here, and ride my bike to Alabama. Like I ever ride my bike. I don't even know why I have a bike.

Deborah
Yes Tim, you are Tennessee

Deborah
(lol)
(lol)
(lol)

Idaho70
Is your bike an E-Bike? Then you do not have to pedal.

KK7CON- Kristin
(wave)

W7LTE
No it's powered by cheeseburgers

Deborah
You have a bike because you are a prepper.

Deborah
Bye Kristin

Idaho70
Ahh. Old style. Yep, just like any good prepper.

Deborah
You were in TN when you 1st got out there right?

W7LTE
Yeah, Chattanooga. That's where my mom is. About 20 miles from where we are. I wanted to stay in TN but when the land I found down here was awesome!

Deborah
Keith, does she like where she is? How old is she?

W7LTE
I am using my mom's address and staying a TN resident though. I haven't done anything "official" down here. Our land doesn't even have an address. I like it that way ..

Deborah
makes sense. glad you are still close to your mom. That's the one thing that brings me down is knowing my mom will never leave NV.

Idaho70
She and her husband really like the area, people seem very friendly. They both work virtual for the forest service so they can live anywhere. Judy found the house for them.

Deborah
very cool Keith. Smart Tim, no paper trail

Idaho70
My place has an address, but google often leads people looking for it into areas of idaho that they lookers are never heard from again.

Deborah
google is good at that.

Idaho70
You can find the our place on google earth.

Deborah
Hi NiceUser

Idaho70
We like the wildlife. Moose, elk, deer, mountain lions, wolves etc.

W7LTE
That's one of the things that I like about this area. There's stories. And the general consensus among locals is "if you don't have any business on the mountain, stay off the mountain. And stay out of the big woods." People up here take care of themselves. They don't call the cops on trespassers if you know what I mean

W7LTE

W7LTE
This guy just came strolling through my yard!

Deborah
nice

Idaho70
Just follow the three S's. Shoot, Shovel, Shut up. I never had to shoot, but have had a 30-06 leveled, chambered and when the guy yelled "If you fire that gun I will call the cops" My reply was "If I fire this gun you ain't calling nobody." Nice pic of the deer.

Deborah
Just let Remi-Jane puppy face in. She took her ball outside, semi buried it in the snow, then brought it in to rub on the couch and Ralph's head.

Idaho70
That is one way to wake Ralph up.

Deborah
yup

Idaho70
Is that her name Remi-Jane puppy face?

Deborah
OK guys, I'm going to call it a night. He has to work tomorrow and I get up with him.

Idaho70
Ok, goodnight. Enjoy the snow.

Deborah
Yes her name is Remi-Jane. Puppy face is because she is only just turned 1 year old. We share a birthday.

W7LTE
Same here. It's midnight and I have to get up at 4.

Idaho70
Time for me to go 73 also. Night night

W7LTE
I'll try to be on next week. See y'all

Deborah
If you ever saw the show Blindspot, that is where we got the name.

Deborah
Night Tim. Night Keith. 73 guys
